After the deaths of his older daughters, Patrick Bronte removed Charlotte and Emily from the school. Maria and Elizabeth had died of tuberculosis, where Charlotte Bronte herself conveyed that they had got the disease because of the poor conditions of the school (Clergy Daughters’ School) that they all went to in Lancashire.
